For Sydney locals, Darlinghurst is a foodie’s dream, featuring hole-in-the-wall pasta bars, cult bakeries and some of Sydney’s oldest venues—it’s the detour worth taking if you’re visiting for the first time.

A.P Bread is a Sydney institution, but their Bread & Wine venue set in the heart of Darlinghurst is our top pick for a coffee, pastry or lazy lunch. Do yourself a favour and order the Rissole Sandwich with Gruyere.

Sydney is certainly not short on pubs, but when it comes to pub grub, many of them leave much to be desired. If you love a parmy, we promise this is one of the best ones we’ve ever tried. Served with their signature slaw and proper shoestring fries, it’s a winner all round.
