Frequently Asked Questions
Nothing — 'marg glass' is just shorthand. Both refer to the same wide-rimmed cocktail glass designed for margaritas. Ours is hand-carved from a single piece of 100% pink Himalayan salt instead of cut from glass, so the salt rim is built right into the vessel.
Each glass holds around 200ml of cocktail — a balanced pour rather than a maxed-out serving. Traditional cut-glass margarita glasses range from 240ml to 350ml; ours is sized for a proper margarita, not a bucket.
The food-safe silicone insert sits inside the salt vessel and holds your cocktail so the liquid doesn't dissolve the salt. Each sip travels over the natural salt rim on its way to your mouth — seasoning every mouthful the way the classic margarita was designed to taste, without the rim-dipping mess.
Hand-rinse only. Lift the silicone insert out — that part is dishwasher-safe. Wipe the salt vessel itself dry with a clean cloth. Never submerge the salt or put it in the dishwasher. Stored properly, the glass lasts for years.
Yes — anything that benefits from a salt rim. Spicy margaritas, palomas, tequila sours, salted negronis, Tommy's margaritas. The salt seasons every sip, so it works best with cocktails that already have citrus and tequila in them.
Less than you'd think. Hand-carved salt is denser than rock salt — these handle normal use. They'll dissolve very gradually over years of use, like a wooden chopping board patinas over time. Treat them as working glasses, not delicate display pieces.
Our salt is ethically sourced from the foothills of the Himalayan mountains in Pakistan — the same region that produces all genuine pink Himalayan salt. The colour comes from natural mineral content, so every glass we make runs somewhere between pale pink and deep coral.
